Top Things to Do in Falmouth
Go Shopping and Eating on Main Street
If you are not familiar with Cape Cod then one thing you should know is each town has it’s own “Main Street” filled with shops and places to eat. Some Main Streets are filled with more places than others of course. Falmouth’s Main Street is one of my favorites in Cape Cod along with Chatham and Provincetown. It is a relaxing street to walk down and is filled with many food options too.
Take a Short Hike at The Knob- Cornelia Carey Sanctuary
I am not a fan of hiking. But, the trail here is extremely easy and it does not take long to reach the beach. Parking here is extremely difficult due to the number of parking spaces( i think there is only 20). So, I would recommend people to come either early in the morning or at the end of the day if you don’t plan to spend a long time at the beach area. The hardest part is figuring out how to reach The Knob, as the GPS does not lead you to the correct location with the address provided on the official website. But, just as the locals while you are driving.
Visit Nobska Lighthouse
New England is the place for lighthouses. I never thought much about lighthouses or cared to visit a lighthouse in my life before visiting Cape Cod. But, they are a thing of beauty in Cape Cod. So, I try to visit as many as I can each time I go. Well, I try to visit the ones that are the easiest to get to as some may require a very long hike
Go To The Beach – Old Silver Beach
Cape Cod is filled with a plethora of amazing beaches. And, Falmouth is fortunate enough to have some amazing beaches to spend a beautiful summer day.
Old Silver Beach is one of the most popular and beloved ones in Falmouth. The only thing is that parking during the summer time can be hard to find here. Old Silver Beach is not part of the National Seashore beaches so it has it’s own parking rates. For more info on their rates visit the official Falmouth’s website – http://www.falmouthmass.us/152/Beach-Parking-Stickers
Cape Cod National Seashore beaches currently cost $25 for the day or if you buy an annual pass it is $60 for the summer season. But, not all beaches are a National Seashore beach therefore they have their own daily/seasonal rate.
