Are the Zitsticka Killa Pimple Patches worth the hype? After testing them since last year I decided to finally do a review of them.Acne patches have been around for years, and I have tried at least 8 different brands over the past two years in my quest to reduce the size of a pesky pimple. ( I hate that word, anyone else).
Now, whenever it is that time of the month, I often find myself with a cystic pimple on my chin; the one that doesn’t come to a head but is under the skin. So, when I saw last year Zitsticka Killa Cystic Acne Patches I was excited to try them. Because a normal pimple and a cystic pimple are two very different things.
Behind the Brand – Zitsticka
Zitsticka launched in early 2019 by Daniel Kaplan and Robbie Miller. Daniel is Robbie’s brothers-in-law. Originally Zitsticka’s headquarters were in Sydney, Australia but they have since based their business in New York City. So far the skincare brand only offers 3 products, but their original Zitsticka Killa Kit.
What Zitsticka Acne Patch claims to do?
So, according to their website, these are for “ The blind, unidentifiable, hard-to-reach ones that greet you first thing in the morning. The deep shiners that pulse like a bass line. The early-stage, upcoming ones that previously left you helpless.”
I have seen many people use these for their everyday pimples on Youtube. But, these I think are for those under the skin cystic type pimples that you can feel but that have not come to a head though. The magic in these acne patches is its micro dart technology.
What is Microdart Technology
The microdart’s are filled with all the beneficial ingredients. There are on one side of the patch. They are super gentle and simple and don’t hurt at all. The microdarts help deliver the ingredients directly into the skin so it penetrates deeper into the pimple to help get rid of it faster. When you put them on you only feel a little tingle
The microdarts are embedded with 24 tiny microdarts that self-dissolve within the epicenter of the pimple after two hours after the patch is applied.
Ingredients
The kit comes with 8 soaked Cleana Swabs and 8 Microdart Killa Patches.
Cleana Swabs ( disinfecting/cleansing wipe to prep the area with the pimple) It is soaked with
salicylic acid, tea tree oil, vitamin E, and alcohol.
Microdart Killar Patch has according to its website:
• hyaluronic acid: An all-star ingredient for hydration. It is a moisture-magnet and makes sure your skin doesn’t get dry from the other ingredients. Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant which makes it capable of drawing moisture from it’s surrounding area.
• OG-76 peptide: It helps silence an upcoming zit’s appearance before it becomes noticeable.
• salicylic acid: an unclogging chemical exfoliant and standard in acne products. And, it helps the patch stick to your face
• Niacinamide: An all-star ingredient. It works with the natural substances in your skin to shrink the appearance of redness and improve the appearance of uneven skin tone. It also helps repair signs of damage and calms the skin.
• sodium hydroxide: a PH balancer for your skin
How to use the Zitsticka’s Acne Patches
Step 1: Clean your face with a gentle cleanser beforehand and dry it
Step 2: Swipe the Cleana swab over the pimple
Step 3: Apply the KILLA patch onto the pimple. Leave on for 2+ hours for the microdarts to dissolve ( for best results leave overnight)
My Experience with Zitsticka Acne Patches:
So we have different types of pimples – here are the two kinds I tested out with these patches
- Under the Skin Cystic Pimple that hasn’t come to a head
So, I often get the typical hormonal cystic blemish on my chin every month ( the kind you can’t see, but you can feel a small bump.) I noticed that when I put it on it took 2 uses of the acne pimple patch to help reduce the size of the cystic pimple and I loved it!!! Normally those cystic kinds take between 7-10 days to go away naturally when I use them. - Pimple in its very early stages that look like it will come to a head soon – normal pimples
For these, I am not sure what they are called, but I can usually tell if they will come to ahead. So, when I got one of these I noticed Zitsticka brought it to a head faster after 1 night, and the healing process for the pimple was quicker.
Does Zitsticka Killa Pimple Patch work? Is it worth it?
Yes! But, for me, I would use it exclusively for cystic/under the skin pimples. These are pretty costly for everyday blemishes. But, overall I would say these are among my favorite blemishes patches to use for sure.
They cost $29.00 for only 8 Microdarts( including the 8 Cleana swabs). That means 1 microdart cost around $3.63 apiece. Now for me for my occasional cystic pimples on my skin they are worth it. They are on the pricey side, but I spent a lot more money throughout the years on testing out products on a cystic pimple that didn’t work.
I look forward to trying some of their newer products one day. They have their new line of skin supplements called Skin Discipline and their new microdarts to help fade post-zit damage called Hyperfade.
