Ammi Nice Massena Aparthotel Review

If you are going to Nice and want to stay in an apartment and not deal with an owner I’d recommend Ammi Nice Massena Aparthotel. Ammi is a hotel group in Nice that owns several Aparthotels in the city along with standard hotels. I have visited Nice before staying in normal hotels with a view of the beach. But, for this visit, I just wanted an apartment. One of my favorite things to do in a new city is grocery shop for snacks and drinks. I don’t ever use a kitchen on a trip to its full potential. But, it’s nice having snacks in the fridge when you want them and cold drinks. And, if you wanted an egg for a quick breakfast I like having that option too. Although, on vacation, I love finding breakfast spots.

Location & Accessibility & Stairs/elevator at Ammi Nice Massena Aparthotel

Ammi Nice Massena is located on the corner of Place Massena. It is located on the pedestrian street on 4 Rue Massena. And, it is right by the Place Massena tram stop too. If you want to go to the old town and the beach it’s a 10-minute walk away. Nice is a pretty walkable city so, there are many restaurants around the hotel.

Now, while I love the hotel you have to remember two important things: it’s on a pedestrian street and an old building. If you are coming from the airport by taxi you need to take it to 4 Rue de Liberte. From there you need to walk down the alleyway probably 2 minutes to the hotel. Now, if you are young and healthy this isn’t an issue. But, when you are dragging all of your heavy luggage it can be a struggle. When we check out a wonderful staff member helped us with our bags. And, on checkout we had another wonderful staff member help one of my family members carry her bags down the alley.

When you get to the hotel you do need to walk up 1 set of stairs to reach the elevator. From the elevator, you take it to the lobby. You can leave your bags outside the elevator. Then, you have to carry your luggage up another flight of stairs. If you pack light it’s no problem. But, when it’s very hot out and you have been traveling/tired it’s a bit of a struggle. During the day without our luggage, we got used to the stairs so that wasn’t too bad!

Apartment Amenities at Ammi Nice Massena Aparthotel

Photo from https://www.ammihotels.com/en/ammi-nice-massena . I forgot to take a photo when the bed was made

I had a 1 bedroom suite with balcony. There was one bedroom that had a double bed and the other room is where there is the living room area/kitchenette/sofa bed. The kitchen was stocked with the most basic things you need ( microwave/ small fridge( bigger than a mini fridge at a regular hotel of course!/stove/Nespresso machine/toaster/kettle) and plates/dishes/utensils. It was a very well-stocked kitchenette. And, the air conditioning works amazing! When it’s 80+ out the last thing you need is aircon not working. Besides that everything was very clean as well and nothing look outdated. I felt the apartment was well taken of and updated. After staying there for a week it felt like our little home for a short period in Nice.

Staff at Ammi Nice Massena Aparthotel

The staff at Ammi Nice Massena were truly amazing. From the time I emailed the hotel to checking in. And, they helped us carry some of our bags from the elevator up to the room and one staff member helped us carry one of our bags down the alley to where the Uber picked us up. They went above and beyond to make my family feel welcome and enjoy our stay. I think the hotel hires such wonderful warm people to work in hospitality.

We had an amazing experience staying here and plan to come back for another summer. But, next time we plan to be in Nice in June when it is not to hot as August.
